Vilma supports Mar-Leni team in 2016
MANILA, Philippines - Batangas Gov. Vilma Santos-Recto has expressed support for former local government secretary Mar Roxas and Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo in the 2016 elections.
In a political gathering in Lipa City over the weekend, Vilma described the administration candidates as a perfect team.
“If they win, Roxas will serve as the country’s pillar and Leni as the society’s guiding light,” Vilma said.
“They are both economists. We need leaders like them,” she added.
Vilma belongs to the ruling Liberal Party. Her husband, Sen. Ralph Recto is one of the senatorial candidates of the Roxas-Robredo ticket.
Congressmen and other local officials from the province attended the Lipa City gathering.
Earlier, officials and community leaders in Ligao City in Albay supported the administration team.
Ligao Mayor Patty Gonzales-Alsua told her constituents that with the election of Roxas and Robredo, “we will continue to reap the benefits of daang matuwid.”
Linda Gonzalez, president of Ligao Women’s Club, thanked Roxas for pushing the cityhood of Ligao when he was senator.
