Village exec nabbed for drugs

ILOILO CITY, Philippines – A village councilman was arrested in an anti-drug operation in Roxas City, Capiz on Saturday.

Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reportedly seized from Oniel Arandez,  of Barangay Punta Tabuc, four plastic sachets said to contain shabu with an estimated street value of P120,000.

Authorities said Arandez was nabbed in 2008 for a similar offense, but the charges against him were dismissed.

Arandez denied he is engaged in the illegal drug trade and accused the PDEA agents of planting evidence against him.
