Mountaineer found floating in Laguna falls

LAGUNA, Philippines – A 23-year-old mountaineer who was reported missing on Monday was found floating at a waterfall in Pangil town in this province yesterday morning.

The body of Edward Dizon of Cabuyao City was recovered by divers of the Philippine Coast Guard from the Hidden Falls in Barangay Buntot Palos, according to Arvin Carandang of the provincial disaster risk reduction and management council.

Dizon, along with 14 climbers, went hiking on Saturday. He was reported missing at around 10:30 a.m. the next day.

The group said they decided to cut their hike short when the wind and rains became torrential.
