CATBALOGAN CITY, Philippines – A 50-year-old Burauen town councilor in Leyte was arrested for allegedly selling prohibited drugs to a policeman on Thursday.

Laurefel Gabales, Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) Region 8 director, said Councilor Robert del Pilar had been under surveillance for at least a month before the sting.

“He was caught selling. When frisked, he also yielded two more sachets of shabu. We have been monitoring his activities but it’s only now that we’ve chanced on him,” Gabales added.

A complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165, the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act, was filed against Del Pilar.
