MANILA, Philippines- The Phiippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) on Sunday said most parts of Visayas and Mindanao will experience cloudy skies with rains until Wednesday due to an Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ).

PAGASA weather forecaster Aldczar Aurelio said the ITCZ will bring cloudy skies with light to moderate rains and isolated  thunderstorms over the Visayas, Caraga, Northern, Mindanao and Zamboanga Peninsula. Meanwhile, the rest of the country including Metro Manila will have fair weather or partly cloudy to cloudy skies.

Metro Manila may still expect isolated thunderstorms, according to the weather bureau.

Aurelio added that the ITCZ affecting the Visayas and Mindanao is considered a breeding ground for low-pressure areas (LPAs) or potential cyclones.

According to Aurelio, the weather bureau is also monitoring an LPA outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility which will likely enter the country by Tuesday or Wednesday.

The said LPA has a high chance of intensifying into a tropical cyclone as it was located in the sea.
