Amok kills woman, son

BATANGAS, Philippines – A woman and her seven-year-old son were hacked to death while three others were wounded when a man ran amuck in Sto. Tomas town here on Monday.

Mary Rose Señeres and her son Din-Din died at the scene while Narciso Evangelista, Ryan Evardone and his brother Randy, 38, were taken to the hospital for treatment, according to Batangas police director Senior Superintendent Omega Jireh Fidel.

Reports said Mary Rose and Din-Din went near the house of the suspect, identified as Eric Evangelista, in Barangay San Bartolome to take a bath.

Evangelista, who was drunk, reportedly attacked them with a bolo.

Narciso and the Evardone brothers tried to stop Evangelista, but they too were attacked by the suspect.
