Man kills self in front of wife, son

BACOLOD CITY, Philippines  – A 46-year-old man stabbed himself dead in front of his wife and son at their home in Binalbagan, Negros Occidental Friday night.

Jomarie Rodriguez Sr., 46, died while being rushed to the Binalbagan Infirmary Clinic for treatment, according to town police chief Senior Inspector Albert Sy.

Reports said Rodriguez and his wife Trinidad, 48, figured in a quarrel at their home in Barangay San Jose.

When their son, Joemarie Jr., tried to pacify them, Rodriguez reportedly ran to the kitchen, took a knife and stabbed himself in the chest.

Sy said they would look deeper into the incident to determine if foul play was involved.
