QC cops undergo surprise drug test

MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City Police District officials and personnel on Thursday underwent a surprise drug test.

The drug test was led by QCPD director Edgardo Tinio at the police headquarters in Camp Karingal, Quezon City 

Aside from the Tinio and his deputies, the first batch of personnel to undergo the surprise drug test included the officers from the administrative and operational units, head of the different directorial staff, chief and members of the District Anti-illegal Drugs Special Operations Task Group and their counterparts from all 12 QC police station.

Another round of drug testing will be done in the days to come until all uniformed personnel have undergone the tests, conducted by the QCPD crime laboratory led by Police Superintendent Francis Supe Jr.   

"Anyone who shall be found positive of illegal drug use shall be subject to investigation and will be charged accordingly," Tinio said.

"Kaya natin ginagawa ito para siguraduhin na ang mga pulis natin na nagpapatupad ng batas ay magiging ehemplo sa ating kampanya laban sa anumang uri ng ipinagbabawal na droga," he added.
