Trader shot dead in Ilocos Sur

TUGUEGARAO CITY, Philippines – A 54-year-old businessman was gunned down as he alighted from his vehicle in Barangay San Jose, Candon City, Ilocos Sur around midnight on Monday.

Jonathan Tiu was about to open door of his house when the gunman shot him and fled, Candon City Police chief Supt. Richmond Tadina said.

Investigators are looking into business rivalry as the motive for the attack. Tiu was engaged in selling construction supplies.
