Fire hits Batangas market

BATANGAS, Philippines – At least P12 million worth of property was destroyed in a fire that hit the Lemery public market Saturday.

Fire Inspector Noel Leica said the fire was sparked by  faulty electrical connection in one of the meat stalls.

Leica said almost half of the market was destroyed, including 90 commercial stalls.

No one was reported killed or injured in the blaze that lasted two hours.
