Ed Amoroso - The Philippine Star

CAMP VICENTE LIM, Laguna, Philippines – A 45-year-old British man was found dead in a river in Pagsanjan, Laguna Monday afternoon, police said yesterday.

Members of the provincial disaster rescue team fished out the body of Mark Selby, a computer programmer, in Balanac River at around 10:45 a.m., according to PO2 Rodrigo Velarde.

Selby and his partner, Mary Anne Cruz, were booked for two days at the Villa Socorro Agri-Eco Inc. in Barangay Dingin.

Cruz told police the victim could have drowned when he went swimming with the resort’s executive assistant Juan Angelo Cano on Monday.

The National Bureau of Investigation is conducting an investigation into Selby’s death.
