Gunman in teacher’s slay nabbed

LAGUNA, Philippines – A man tagged as the gunman in the killing of a teacher in Rizal last year  was arrested in Calauan town here yesterday, police said.

Chief Inspector Luis Perez, Calauan police chief, said Leopoldo Palacay Julo, 45, alias Junior, admitted the crime when policemen served a warrant for his arrest at his hideout in Barangay Prinza, Calauan at around 5 a.m.

Perez said witnesses shot dead Marilou Aquino after a heated argument in Sitio Tower, Borac, Barangay Quisao, Pililla, Rizal on July 6, 2013.

He said Julo was also the most wanted person in Rizal.
