Another bomb found in Lamitan City

ZAMBOANGA CITY - Another bomb was discovered planted along a road in Lamitan City, Basilan on Tuesday morning.

Senior Inspector Gean Gallardo, Lamitan City Police chief, said an improvised explosive device (IED) was rigged to an eletrical post along the Basilan circumferential road in Purok 8, Barangay Colonial.

Gallardo said civilians noticed the bomb at around 7 a.m.

The local police's bomb squad was able to immediately detach the bomb from the post and defuse it.

Gallardo said that according to the 39th Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, the bomb is similar to the explosive recovered from a school in Lamitan city on Monday.
