Man jailed for bomb joke at Cebu airport - report

MANILA, Philippines - A 42-year-old man was hauled off to jail Wednesday after telling a flight attendant that his bag contained a bomb while inside an airplane in Cebu.
 
A radio report said that Arnold Go was at the Mactan-Cebu International Airport and on board a Cebu Pacific plane bound for Butuan City when a flight attendant told him to put his hand- carried bag in the overhead baggage compartment.
 
Instead of heeding the attendant's request, Go said he cannot put his bag in the overhead baggage compartment because it has an explosive device.
 
The flight attendant immediately informed the pilot and airport authorities.
 
Go's bags yielded no bombs or any explosive device after airport authorities checked them, delaying the flight of more than 100 passengers, the report said. 
 
Go is now facing criminal mishief charge for his bomb joke.
