3 die as jeep falls into ravine

BAYOMBONG, Nueva Vizcaya, Philippines – Three persons died while three others were injured when an owner-type jeep fell into a ravine in Narvacan  town, Ilocos Sur Saturday afternoon.

Driver Tranquilino Damiao Jr. and his passengers, Bernanditas Duerme and Dally Rivera, died at the scene, said case investigator Police Officer 3 Jay Callejo.

Alfredo Madriaga, Fatima Duerme and Dennis Pascual were reported to be in critical condition at the Central Ilocos Sur District Hospital.

Callejo said the victims were on their way home from a relative’s funeral in Tayum, Abra.

He said the jeep was traveling along a zigzag road in Barangay Lungog when the accident occurred at around 4:30 p.m.
