CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines – A bus conductor died while six others were injured in a smashup involving two buses and a cargo truck along the North Luzon Expressway in Apalit, Pampanga Friday.

Quevil Pugal, 40, of Dominion Bus Lines, was declared dead on arrival at a hospital after his vehicle collided with a Victory Liner bus, Pampanga police director Senior Superintendent Marlon Madrid said.

Madrid said the Dominion bus driven by Hanserik Pamitan, also crashed into an Isuzu truck driven by Juan dela Torre.

He said the Dominion bus was running at top speed when the accident occurred in Barangay Sampaloc.

The injured passengers were taken to Jose B. Lingad Hospital in San Fernando City for treatment.

Pamitan escaped after the accident while Dela Cruz and Loreto Mariano, driver of the Victory bus, were taken to the police station.
