Rainier Allan Ronda - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is preparing for the opening of its 15th Philippine Science High School (PSHS) regional campus by 2016.

The PSHS system, which is under the DOST, is currently considering three proposed sites where the PSHS Region 9 campus will be established.

The selection will be done by the PSHS board of trustees led by Fortunato dela Peña, DOST undersecretary for science and technology services; and Rod Allan de Lara, PSHS system deputy executive director and officer-in-charge.

The board is assisted by PSHS system chief administrative officer Ma. Concepcion Sakai and Ma. Clarissa Pesigan, technical resource person for evaluation and site analysis.

One of the proposed sites is in Barangay Cabatangan, Zamboanga City, a five-hectare lot to be donated by the city government. The two other sites are at the ZamboEcozone, also in Zamboanga City; and in Pagadian City, to be donated by the provincial government of Zamboanga del Sur.
