Fire kills elderly couple in Quezon City

MANILA, Philippines - An elderly couple were killed after fire struck their home in Barangay Holy spirit in Quezon City.

Radio dzMM reported on Saturday morning that the fire struck the house of Severino and Clara Macabinquil, 78 and 72 years old, along 25 Odonel Street.

The couple was found lifeless in their room.

Their 25-year-old relative identified only as Dalia was rushed to the hospital for burn wounds.

Arson investigator said that the fire that gutted the couple's house started from an unattended lighted candle.
