Village exec shot dead

BUTUAN CITY , Philippines   â€“ A barangay councilman seeking re-election was shot dead by two unidentified gunmen in the town of Jabonga in Agusan del Norte Saturday.

Erlindo Rosalin, 60, of Barangay Magsaysay, was talking to his friend, Nito Moran, in Purok 2 when the motorcycle-riding gunmen arrived and shot him.

Rosalin died while being treated at the Jabonga Municipal Hospital.

Investigators are eyeing personal grudge as the motive for the killing, but Rosalin’s relatives believe it was politically motivated.
