SM Foundation donates Bulacan school building

MANILA, Philippines - SM Foundation Inc. (SMFI) donated a fully furnished school building to the Liciada Elementary School in Barangay Liciada, Bustos, Bulacan, as part of its commitment to support the public education system in the country.

The one-story, two-classroom building is complete with armchairs, blackboards, teacher’s desks, and toilet facilities. It is the 53rd school building the foundation has turned over since 2002.

The donation is also one of SMFI’s latest contributions to the Adopt-a-School program of the Department of Education, an initiative to create multiple partnerships with foundations, NGOs, and the private sector to further improve the educational system.

To date, SMFI has donated 130 classrooms in support of the program and is scheduled to donate 10 more school buildings in various locations all over the country. It also plans to continue its different programs to further its advocacy of proper education for every Filipino.
