MANILA, Philippines-- Some 371 families were evacuated to higher grounds as the water level rose in rivers in Davao City during a heavy downpour Wednesday night, the National Disaster Risk Reduction Management Council said.
Based on the data from NDRRMC, the affected families were pre-emptively evacuated during heavy rains around 8 p.m. Wednesday, which rendered some roads impassable due floods.
The families who were evacuated from their homes came from villages of Maa, Matina Crossing, Matina Pangi and Talomo as water levels of the Matina, Balusong and Talomo rivers rose, the NDRRMC said.
However, the NDRRMC said that all the families affected by the floods have already returned to their homes Thursday morning after the water subsided.
