‘Drug trafficker’ shot dead

COTABATO CITY, Philippines – Anti-narcotics agents shot dead a suspected drug trafficker and arrested seven others in a raid in Datu Saudi town in Maguindanao Monday.

The suspect identified as Kabrix Katidtid died while being rushed to the hospital.

Operatives of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) said Katidtid was shot after he tried to resist arrest.

Officials said Katidtid was in a drug den in Salbu area when the PDEA agents arrived. Instead of yielding, the suspect reportedly tried to pull out a gun.

Authorities arrested seven drug users caught sniffing shabu in the drug den.
