Jack Enrile's convoy ambushed in ComVal province

MANILA, Philippines - Unidentified gunmen fired at the convoy of Cagayan Rep. Juan Ponce "Jack" Enrile in Mawab, Compostela Valley province.

The United Nationalist Alliance (UNA) said that Enrile's seven-vehicle convoy was headed for Tagum City when it was fired upon by unidentified gunmen at around 3 p.m.

Enrile, the son of Senate President Juan Ponce Enrile, is running for senator under UNA.

Reports said that the gunmen were able to hit the last vehicle of the convoy.

No one was hurt in the shooting.

Authorities have yet to identify the attackers.
