Bus kills 3 Zambo motorbike riders

ZAMBOANGA CITY, Philippines – A motorcycle driver and his two back riders were killed when a speeding bus hit them along the highway in Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay last Monday night, police said.

The fatalities were identified as driver Alexander Salac, 25, and his companions Ricky Bulahan and Marlon Calago, all residents of Barangay Catituan, Malangas town.

Inspector Leonardo Dator Panes, officer-in-charge of the Diplahan municipal police, said the Rural Transit bus bound for Pagadian City from Zamboanga City was cruising the highway when the motorcycle suddenly cut its path.

The bus driver, Nicomedes Jaculbe Lada, 51, immediately surrendered after the accident.
