Oldest hotel in Olongapo burned

CAMP OLIVAS, Pampanga, Philippines   – The oldest hotel and restaurant in Olongapo City has turned into ashes after it was razed by fire on Tuesday.

Reports reaching here, said Kong’s Hotel and restaurant located along Magsaysay Drive at said city was gutted by fire at around 9 a.m.

The fire originated at the third floor of the establishment and immediately spread down the restaurant made of wood.

Several firefighting units including the Subic Bay Metropolitan Authority (SBMA) fire trucks helped in putting the fire that reached the fourth alarm.

The report said that Wimpy’s restaurant and Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp. (PAGCOR) casino besides Kong’s have been saved from the fire.

Kong is considered the oldest hotel and restaurant in Olongapo City.  

Police said that Olongapo City arson investigators are still conducting the cause of the fire.
