MARILAO, Bulacan – Two Chinese nationals tagged in large-scale hijackings were killed in a shootout with Bulacan police while six others were arrested in Barangay Patubig here last Saturday night.

Senior Superintendent Allen Bantolo, acting provincial police director, identified the slain suspects as Danny Tan and Kun Meng Chen and those arrested as Arnel Mago, 27; Rodolfo Aloro, 27; Rolly Aloro, 27; Angel Tirao, 28; John Albert Tirao, 18; and Rosalindo Daut 31, a former military man.

Reports said police cornered the group after nearly a month-long surveillance. Bantolo said the suspects fired at the lawmen, triggering the shootout.

Bantolo said a Toyota Innova, a 20-footer container van and assorted items were seized in the suspects’ warehouse in Barangay Patubig.

Police were still conducting an inventory of the seized items as of press time, he said.
