Typhoon 'Ineng' moving towards Japan
Typhoon 'Ineng' (international codename: Krosa) has veered slightly to the north northwest and continues to move closer to the Ryukyu, Southern Islands of Japan.
As of 10 a.m., the storm was 390 kms north-northeast of Basco, Batanes or 230 kms southeast of Taipei, Taiwan with a strength of maximum sustained winds of 185 kph near the center
and gustiness of up to 220 kph.
The typhoon was moving north-northwest at 15 kph.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) said the typhoon would be 700 kms north-northeast of Basco, Batanes or 270 kms North Northeast of Taipei, Taiwan by Sunday morning.
Areas having public storm warning signal include signal no. 1
(30-60 kph winds) over the Batanes group of islands, Babuyan
and Calayan islands. All public storm warning signals elsewhere now lowered.
Typhoon 'Ineng' will continue to enhance the southwest monsoon and bring rains over the western section of Luzon and western Visayas.
