'Super-regions is not a gimmick', GMA defends
July 23, 2007 | 4:50pm
President Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo defended the national government's plan for super-regions during her State of the Nation Address Monday.
Speaking before the newly-elected Congress, she said the super-regions program is aimed at enhancing the economic growth of regional clusters by building infrastucture via roads, bridges, airports, and power plants.
"Manila is not the Philippines," she said in Filipino.
She noted that the program is a blue-print for building the future.
