4 killed as bridge collapses

DAVAO CITY — A wooden bridge that was supposed to carry only 10 metric tons of weight collapsed in Cateel, Davao Oriental Tuesday afternoon, killing four people and wounding seven others.

The bridge gave way as a 10-wheeler truck carrying suspected illegal logs passed through it.

The victims were workers of the trucking firm transporting the logs from Cateel town to Monkayo, Compostela Valley. — Edith Regalado
