KORONADAL CITY Four inmates facing charges of murder, car theft and extortion bolted the Sultan Kudarat provincial jail the other day, but one of them was recaptured.
Sultan Kudarat jail warden Esperidion Robles said the escapees sawed the iron grills of their cell and clambered over the jails concrete wall at about 2:20 a.m. Wednesday.
Jail guards fired 15 warning shots, but three of the escapees ignored them and escaped, leaving behind Allan Labay, who is charged with car theft.
Robles identified the three other jailbreakers as Guinaid Buat, who is charged with murder and car theft; Rachman Paraguyan, multiple murder; and Tato Sumandal, extortion.
Sultan Kudarat Gov. Datu Pax Mangudadatu has ordered jail officials to do their best to recapture the three.
Some 400 inmates, 19 of them women, are detained at the Sultan Kudarat provincial jail.
