Angeles bar girls undergo HIV tests

ANGELES CITY, Pampanga City health officials have been unable to identify the bar girls who had sexual contact with an American national found to be suffering from the Human Immunodeficiency Virus (HIV), prompting them to conduct massive tests for some 2,000 commercial sex workers.
Dr. Joven Esguerra, head of the city health office, told The STAR that since last year, four more HIV victims have been confirmed.
Since 1985, the city health office has found over 50 victims of HIV and AIDS, mostly bar girls.
Esguerra said the American national voluntarily left the country two weeks ago after a local businessman complained to authorities that he had been frequenting local nightspots.
Although the American claimed to have maintained two girlfriends with whom he allegedly practiced "safe sex," Immigration Commissioner Andrea Domingo said the foreigner admitted to the police that he had sex with at least eight local girls.
The Bureau of Immigration has blacklisted the American. Ding Cervantes
