Suspect in film critic’s slay pleads not guilty

MANILA, Philippines - A housemaid who allegedly killed film critic Alexis Tioseco and his girlfriend, Nika Bohinc, pleaded not guilty during her arraignment yesterday morning.
Criselda Dayag, 51, appeared at the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 100 accompanied by lawyer Constanza Brillantes of the Public Attorney’s Office.
The victim’s brother, Christopher Tioseco, assistant city prosecutor Rodrigo del Rosario and lawyer Bernice Mendoza were present during the arraignment.
Dayag was recently arrested in Angeles City and was turned over to the Quezon City police last Friday.
