YEARENDER: Justice speeds up for racer’s murder

Ghio Ong - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines – It seems that the wheels of justice for the murder of international car racer Ferdinand “Enzo” Pastor is about to speed up after one of the masterminds was arrested and reports of his widow’s whereabouts came out.

A government source has confirmed that Pastor’s widow and alleged mastermind Dahlia Guerrero-Pastor has been hiding in a country in Asia using different names.

The source added the National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) has been coordinating with the International Police for the arrest of Guerrero-Pastor, who is on the Interpol’s red notice list.

The Philippines has an extradition treaty with the said country where Dalia is reportedly staying.

Earlier, another source, Pastor’s mother Remy, chose to “spill” to the media information that Guerrero-Pastor is currently staying in Indonesia using the alias “Amanda Maragit.” She also reportedly married an Indonesian and changed the surnames of her children to that of her fake name, Remy added.

Related documents given to the media showed Guerrero-Pastor’s latest photograph and an Indonesian residency card bearing her picture with a fake name.

Remy said she wanted to release the information to speed up the government’s manhunt on Guerrero-Pastor, adding that it’s a “race between the NBI and the Philippine National Police.”

The Pastor family previously announced a reward of P1 million would be given for the immediate arrest of the masterminds on their son’s murder.

Guerrero-Pastor is currently facing a parricide charge for the death of Pastor, who was killed by a gunman in Quezon City on June 12, 2014.

NBI agents captured businessman and Guerrero-Pastor’s alleged lover Domingo “Sandy” de Guzman III at a hotel in Barangay Bucal in Dasmariñas, Cavite on Dec. 3, 2015.

He had been reportedly using fake identification cards to check in at different hotels and evade arrest.

Facing murder charges, De Guzman has been arraigned by the Quezon City Regional Trial Court Branch 85.

Guerrero-Pastor and De Guzman were tagged by the alleged gunman, Police Officer 2 Edgar Angel, who said De Guzman paid him P100,000 to kill Pastor.

He later revoked his confession.
