Street sweeper shoots man who stabbed him

MANILA, Philippines – A street sweeper in Port Area, Manila on Sunday night shot dead a man who had stabbed him a few weeks ago.

Erick Bautista, 29, repeatedly shot Cezar Celedonio, 34, as the victim stepped out of his house in Basic Compound at around 7 p.m.

Senior Police Officer 2 Richard Escarlan said the two men had been quarreling in the past few weeks, during which Celedonio stabbed Bautista in the chest.

Bautista did not file charges but vowed to get even. As Celedonio died at the scene, Bautista escaped on a motorcycle driven by an accomplice.
