House exec loses P.5 M to burglars

MANILA, Philippines - A 62-year-old official of the House of Representatives lost almost P500,000 worth of jewelry and valuables to burglars who broke into her house in Barangay Bagong Silangan, Quezon City Monday.

House secretary general Marilyn Yap said she was preparing to leave for work when she noticed that the bedroom of her daughter, Maria Regina Pauline, 25, was in disarray, Senior Police Officer 2 John Sales said.

A laptop computer, a Go Pro camera, jewelry, bags, shoes, bottles of perfume and money were among the items Yap said were missing from her daughter’s room, Sales said.
