US judge junks case vs INC exec

MANILA, Philippines – The Iglesia Ni Cristo (INC) has won a suit in the United States filed by an expelled member who demanded refund of her offerings to the church.

Virginia Beach Judge Salvador Iaquinto denied a petition filed by Lilibeth Rose against INC minister Steven Inocencio, INC spokesman Edwil Zabala said yesterday.

Rose wanted the weekly offerings she previously made returned to her after she was expelled from the church.

The US judge ruled that church offerings were made voluntarily.

Zabala said the dismissal of the case against Inocencio is another victory against a “concerted effort to harass the INC and its officials.”
