MMDA employee dies in motorbike crash

MANILA, Philippines – An employee of the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) died in a motorcycle crash in Manila yesterday morning.

Pio Bolito, a resident of Novaliches, Quezon City and a member of the MMDA’s Sidewalk Clearing and Operations Group, died at the scene after his motorcycle rammed the center island of the Quezon Bridge.

According to reports, Bolito was on his way to attend the parade of MMDA employees at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila when he figured in the accident.

The MMDA marked its 40th founding anniversary on Friday.
