Technical glitch slows down LRT

MANILA, Philippines - A technical problem slowed down trains at the Light Rail Transit (LRT) Line 2 during yesterday’s morning rush hour.

 An irate LRT-2 commuter, who requested anonymity, said she waited for more than an hour before the train arrived.

LRT spokesman Hernando Cabrera said the trains’ normal time interval of five minutes was delayed by over 10 minutes due to a technical problem, but it was resolved after 30 minutes. He did not say what caused the problem. 

“There was a technical problem. I don’t know the extent but based on the report it was immediately resolved,” Cabrera said.

There was no suspension of the train operations, he added.
