Drunk cop mistakes student for snatcher

MANILA, Philippines - A police officer was reportedly drunk when he accosted a 14-year-old student he had mistaken for a snatcher in Sampaloc, Manila Tuesday.

The boy said he was walking home at around 10 p.m. when Police Officer 2 Billy dela Cruz dragged him to the barangay hall and accused him of being a snatcher.

Dela Cruz, insisting the boy was a criminal, brandished his gun at bystanders, prompting them to flee.

Barangay officials denied Dela Cruz’s claim. The policeman was detained at the Manila Police District Station 4.
