New CIDG chief named

MANILA, Philippines - Philippine National Police chief Director General Ricardo Marquez appointed yesterday Chief Superintendent Victor Deona as head of the Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG).

Deona, director of the Bicol regional police, will replace Director Benjamin Magalong in the CIDG.

Magalong was appointed as the new chief of the Directorate for Investigation and Detective Management.

Marquez, Deona and Magalong are members of the Philippine Military Academy Class 1982.
