Belmonte discharged from hospital

Paolo Romero - The Philippine Star

MANILA, Philippines - Speaker Feliciano Belmonte Jr. has been discharged from the St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) in Quezon City, where he was confined for four days for dengue.

Belmonte told reporters yesterday that he wanted to go back to work but doctors advised him to rest at home for a few more days.

He was discharged from the hospital Sunday afternoon.

Belmonte had himself admitted into the SLMC on Aug. 5 for dengue symptoms.

The leader of the House of Representatives apologized for missing appointments and speaking engagements, including a political rally of the Liberal Party and a forum with the Makati Business Club last week.
