SC sacks court clerk for absenteeism

MANILA, Philippines - The Supreme Court (SC) has sacked a clerk of the Manila regional trial court (RTC) for absenteeism.

The SC ordered the dismissal from government service of Tyke Sarceno, clerk III of the Manila RTC Branch 39, for incurring 129 absences from  2009 to 2010.

The high court said Sarceno committed an administrative offense under Administrative Circular 14-2002 and Section 52 of the Revised Uniform Rules on Administrative Cases in Civil Service, which penalize absenteeism.
