Cabbie robs Korean students in Manila

MANILA, Philippines - A taxi driver robbed two Korean students along Roxas Boulevard in Manila shortly before midnight Wednesday.

Geongram Park, 19 and Jiyeon Son, 20, told Senior Police Officer 2 James Poso yesterday that they flagged down a Kaloe taxi in Malate at around 11:45 p.m. and asked to be taken to Intramuros, where they reside.

Upon reaching a hotel fronting Manila Bay, the driver reportedly robbed them and took their belongings, the students said.

Poso said investigators requested the Land Transportation Office to identify the owner of Kaloe taxi with license plate WYM-531.
