Salesman loses SUV to carjacker

MANILA, Philippines - A salesman lost his father’s sport utility vehicle to a carjacker who drove off with the car as the victim stepped out to buy cigarettes in Quezon City before dawn Monday.

Francis Wong, 26, told police he parked the black Toyota Fortuner (ZMH-596), with its engine running, and went to a store in Barangay Apolonio Samson at past 3 a.m.

The Fortuner is registered to his father, Chung Wai Wong.

The younger Wong tried to stop the carjacker from driving away, but ended up being dragged on the pavement as he held on to the car.
