1 hurt as power post falls on Malabon house

MANILA, Philippines - A four-year-old girl was hurt when a power post fell on a house in Malabon City Sunday night.

The girl, who was not identified, suffered minor injuries.

Perly Garcia, whose house on Lascano street collapsed under the weight of the post, said the incident happened during a downpour at around 9:30 p.m. The incident caused a power interruption in some parts of Malabon and Caloocan City.

Residents told The STAR they have been complaining about the damaged post since last year.

Police said Manila Electric Co. workers arrived before noon yesterday and traffic was rerouted to allow for the installation of a new concrete electric post.
