Man jumps from MRT platform

MANILA, Philippines - A man who had just broken up with his girlfriend was injured after he jumped from a Metro Rail Transit station platform in Cubao, Quezon City on Monday night.

Factory worker Jefferson Beating, 28, is still under observation at the East Avenue Medical Center following his alleged suicide attempt, said Superintendent Ramon Pranada.

According to Pranada, Beating suffered scrapes and cuts but had no serious injuries when he landed on the roof of Vista Hotel at past 8 p.m.

Beating admitted to feeling depressed when the month-long relationship ended, Pranada said.
