Body dumped near Philcoa footbridge

MANILA, Philippines - The body of a man stashed inside a garbage bag was found dumped at the Philcoa footbridge along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City at past midnight yesterday.

Bystanders in the area said the victim was known there as a barker named Bungo, Police Officer 3 Erickson Isidro said. They told police he had been tagged in several robberies.

The naked body of the victim, who was strangled and repeatedly stabbed, was stuffed in a black plastic garbage bag.

Isidro said construction workers Florencio Nuñez and Jomar dela Cruz found the body while taking a break from tearing down the old footbridge.
