Cops kill 2 tagged in Army reservist’s slay

MANILA, Philippines - Police officers shot dead two men who reportedly killed an Army reservist in Pinagbuhatan, Pasig City yesterday morning.

According to initial police reports, Army reservist and security guard Ignacio Mejia was shot dead by Abdulkadir Dipatuan and Mohalidin Sli Ebrahim along C-6 Road just before 10 a.m.

The two suspects were killed in a shootout with police officers from Pasig and Taytay, Rizal who responded to the incident, Pasig police chief Senior Superintendent Mario Rariza said.

A .45 caliber Norinco pistol was recovered from the suspects. Investigators have yet to establish the motive for the killing.
