Jeepney driver beaten for raping ‘special child’

MANILA, Philippines - A jeepney driver was beaten up by residents after he was caught raping a 15-year-old “special child” in a parked vehicle in Mandaluyong City Wednesday.

Nory Modesto, 43, admitted to raping the girl, who is in the second grade. He is being held at the Mandaluyong police detention center.

The victim’s father said it was just before 7 p.m. when the mob arrived at their house, with Modesto in tow, to tell him about his daughter’s rape.
