3 guards nabbed for stabbing man in Navotas

MANILA, Philippines - Three security guards were arrested for stabbing a man who was waiting for a jeepney ride in Navotas City Saturday night.        

Stephen Reginan, 27; Ronnie Lacbay, 27; and Bimbo Marcos, 23, were charged with frustrated murder for the attack on Harold Daquer, 22.

Daquer was reportedly waiting for a ride at the corner of Aquino and M. Naval streets when he accidentally hit one of the suspects while trying to hail a jeepney shortly before midnight Saturday.

The guards confronted the victim. As Daquer tried to explain his side, the three guards pulled out their knives, according to a police report. As Daquer ran away, the three reportedly chased him and took turns stabbing him.

Daquer was taken to the Tondo Medical Center, where he is now under observation, police said.
